In an attempt to solve congestion and pollution problems, the old town centre of Cortona is sealed off from all motorised traffic from 7am to 1am every day.

The parking area in Piazza Signorelli is not open from 7am to 11am. Vehicles needing to load and unload for the market are allowed to park for 1 hour at most.

There is an alternative loading an unloading area during weekdays in Via Cesare Battisti (just before Piazza Garibaldi) from 7am to 12 noon, again for maximum 1 hour a day per vehicle.
