Palazzo CasaliThe historical archives of the Cortona town council are in the mezzanine floor of Palazzo Casali. Like many archives of this kind and in this region, the Archivio Storico is a fascinating time machine for anyone interested in delving into the illustrious past and present of this city. Over the centuries the archive has accumulated vast quantities of documents and papers relating to the day-to-day running of Cortona, that enable historians to trace detailed information down to every single person who has resided here. Along with administrative documents, the archive also contains a number of private archives, listed under the following titles and sections:
  • Statuti e Riformagioni
  • Catasto
  • Il Capitano poi commissario fiorentino
  • Consorzio idraulico
  • Ingegneri del Circondario
  • Moltiplico Alfieri
  • Opera del Duomo e di Santa Maria Nuova
  • Ospedale
  • Orfanotrofio Cinaglia
